Miami and the Beaches knows just how to tempt locals and visitors to take advantage of the outdoors. To honor the destination’s fun-in-the-sun lifestyle, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is hosting the sixth annual Miami Sports and Wellness Month throughout April, offering special discounts on health and recreational activities.

Miami Sports & Wellness Month is part of the year-long Citi Miami Temptations Programs presented by Citibank, which takes a thematic focus on the best the destination has to offer with monthly deals and special events appealing to both locals and tourists alike.

Those who are passionate about fitness and health will be able to attend the first Miami Sports & Wellness Expo, taking place at the University of Miami’s Watsco Center’s Field House.

“Miami and the Beaches has ideal year-round weather, perfect for sports and wellness enthusiasts who enjoy living an energetic lifestyle outdoors. Our dynamic community, with world-class sports venues and attractions, appeals to those seeking invigorating experiences that enrich the body and mind,” said William D. Talbert III, C.D.M.E., President and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. “From bike rides along an oceanfront boardwalk to yoga sessions at a scenic park, stand up paddleboarding and more, locals and visitors can engage in unique activities that are emblematic of our beautiful city and culture.”

For golfers, the GMCVB will also be hosting the 27th Annual H.O.T Challenge Golf Tournament benefitting the Black Hospitality Initiative African-American Scholarship Fund on May 11th at the Miami Beach Golf Club. The event is held to fund scholarships for men and women of African heritage working in the local visitor industry upon graduation along with the GMCVB’s Multicultural & Tourism Programs.
