Early Bird Gets the Worm: 15 Early Morning Workouts

School is officially back in session which means back to early morning workouts. As we enter the start of a new school year STAY FIT 305 wants to give all parents (and non-parents) and students a list to reference when wanting to hit the gym before the madness begins, because what’s a better way to beat traffic than with an early start at the gym? Here are 15 studios who offer early classes for our early risers:

  1. Legacy FitLocation: Doral, Coral Gables, WynwoodFirst Class: Free/6amShower: YesThree locations means three chances to get an early start to your day. This P.I.T (partner internal training) is an intense 60-minute boot camp style class incorporating TRX, pull sleds, body weight movements and cardio. Come prepared to get your butt kicked real early.
  2. JetSet PilatesLocation: Wynwood, SoFi, Sunset Harbour, North Miami, Palmetto BayFirst Class: $28/6:30am (varies by location)Shower: NoThis Pilates class will make you shake like you've never experienced, but in a good way. Once you hop on the machine there are minimal breaks as you pulse, shake, and burn for 50 minutes. It's a great way to start the day, tone, and burn.

RedBike StudiosLocation: Aventura, BrickellFirst Class: Free/6amShower: YesStart your day with an exciting cycling class that turns off the lights during class except for the strobe light that is in tune with the music. The playlists are always on point, and often you can catch themed rides at the studio. Be prepared to get a full body workout on the bike.
  4. Sweat440Location: South BeachFirst Class: Free/5:50amShower: No4 stations, 40 minutes. That’s the motto at Sweat440 as they take you through a revolutionary 40-minute HIIT workout. Everyday is targeted at a different muscle group so you never do the same workouts twice. The beauty here is if you snooze your alarm by accident, you can just hop into the next class because a new one starts every 10 minutes.
  5. Body & Soul Boxing GymLocation: Coral GablesFirst Class: Free/6amShower: NoBe prepared to sweat. This workout is AC free in a warehouse setting and with Miami’s heat you will be drenched by the time you leave. Every class here is done at a HIIT but some classes you’re in the ring, doing legs, partner drills, and they always finish with killer abs. Punch your heart out.
  1. Glow Hot YogaLocation: South BeachFirst Class: Free/ 7amShower: YesIf a heated room and a vinyasa flow sound ideal to you than head over to Glow Hot Yoga for a warm start to your day. Hot yoga is an incredible way to detox your body and start the day off fresh. This is a HOT room so wear light/ tight clothing for the most comfortable flow.
  2. SOL YogaLocation: WynwoodFirst Class: Week Free/7amShower: YesFlow through your week at Sol Yoga with their intense hot yoga class classes. The studio is heated with infrared lighting not hot air, so you really feel the toxins leaving your body through each breath. The instructors are knowledgeable so don’t fear getting out of your comfort zone.

TruFusionLocation: Coral GablesFirst Class: Free Day pass/ 6:15amShower: YesThe options at Tru Fusion are endless and the classes are often, so if you want to start the morning with the shakes check out their Tru Hot Pilates. For more of a boot camp style class check out their Tru Kettlebell class done in an 80-degree room. All the exercises incorporate full body movements and they are sure to make you sweat.
  2. Barry’s BootcampLocation: Aventura, Midtown, SouthBeachFirst Class: Free/6amShower: YesHigh intensity = Barry’s. If you enjoy being pushed to your maximum then Barry’s is for you because these instructors don’t take anything but your all. The class is a mix-up of floor and treadmill exercises. If you’re not sprinting on the treadmill, you’re crushing arms or legs depending on the day you go. Every day is different and you will be sore.

Only good vibes at Cycle Bar because everyone is pedaling to their strongest abilities. It’s like a party on a bike.
  2. Ahana YogaLocation: Design DistrictFirst Class: $25/7:30amShower: YesGet a morning stretch in at Ahana Yoga where they are all about assisting your form and making sure you get the most of every position. This is a great place to learn more about yoga and find your passion for the practice.
  3. Green Monkey YogaLocation: Sunset HarbourFirst Class: Free/6:30amShower: YesLet the view of the sunrise guide you through an incredible yoga session to start the day. Located on the second story with glass windows the views here are unbeatable. This is a light start to the day with a powerful feeling on the body.
  4. The Fit Shop Location: North Miami Beach, Ft. LauderdaleFirst Class: Free/6amShower: YesPrepare for a high intensity boot camp for an overall total body workout. Expect to use kettlebells, body weight exercises, rowers, and ropes. You will get your weight training and cardio in for the day after completing this class.
  5. EPIC Hybrid TrainingLocation: Brickell, Coral GablesFirst Class: Free/6amShower: YesThis is a boot camp style class that includes heavy weights, cardio, and will have you testing your upper body strength. At their studios they have OCR style training machinery, so you can climb through the monkey bars and through the rings for an extra challenge.
  6. Pilates OneLocation: Coconut GroveFirst Class: $45 unlimited week/7amShower: YesWith over 5 different types of classes at Pilates one the excuses not to get a morning workout in are limited. You have the versa climber, Reformer Pilates, cardio boxing, Circuit training, 2 x 1, and the brolates (for men wanting to improve their upper body and core). This is a great spot to work up a sweat in the morning.
