Today, let’s introduce you to Andres Aleman. Andres is a mainstay at CrossFit Soul, and is now taking his years of training experience to teach youth everything they need to know about Olympic Lifting.
Let’s dive into this spotlight interview featuring Miami fitness trainer Andres Aleman.
Tell us about yourself - where are you from and how did you find your way to South Florida?
I was born in Ecuador and raised in Miami. At an early age, through wrestling, I realized I wanted to be a coach due to the impact my coaches had in my life.
How did you get your start in fitness and as an instructor?
Through my wrestling and MMA career I became very knowledgeable of different strength and conditioning methods and started coaching CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting. Now, I use all the experience I have acquired to pass it on to kids.
Where do you teach?
CrossFit Soul Miami and my client’s homes.
What is your favorite part of being a fitness instructor?
The impact that you can make in someone’s life.
How do you stay full of energy throughout the day?
I feed off the energy my clients give me and I get inspired to see them get closer to their goals.
Tell us a little bit more about your specialty as an instructor?
My specialty is definitely coaching kids and being able to capture their attention to teach them different modalities. Because of my experience with kids, I’ve developed great patience and it’s carried on to my adult clients which they appreciate.
Other than where you teach, where is your favorite place in South Florida to train?
Tropical Park.
What is a goal you have that you want to accomplish in 2021?
I’m working on a community project to raise funds for a foster home.
What is a long-term goal you are working towards or would love to achieve?
Become a global Lululemon ambassador and impact a bigger group of individuals through fitness.
What is the one thing you do every day to stay fit?
I currently compete in Olympic Weightlifting and I’m training for nationals.
