Do you ever wonder which Lululemon fabrics are best to wear for specific workouts? Or need a recommendation on what style would work best for a certain activity? Lululemon has a new personal shopping service that gives you all the product knowledge in an in-store experience tailored to your needs.
From gear recommendations to sizing questions, personal shoppers can help with it all! I got to try out this new service last week and had the best time with my personal shopper Josefina at the Aventura Lululemon store.
To reserve a time, you make an appointment online. During the scheduling process, you also fill out a brief questionnaire including who you are shopping for, the products you are looking for, the sizes you need, and which types of activities you do. While this service is great for getting new gear for yourself, it can also be helpful if you are shopping for someone else and are not sure where to start!
On the day of my appointment, I showed up, checked in with Josefina, and found my dressing room labeled and ready for me. Inside there were a variety of outfits in my sizes, all based on my answers in the questionnaire. I had the newest styles, gear I could wear for HIIT workouts, outfit options for golf, and accessories that matched. Josefina gave me an overview of the styles she had selected along with why she had picked them out for me. As I tried on the clothes, she answered all my questions and even found me some other options based on my feedback.
The entire process was so easy and fun. I loved that the questionnaire helped start the conversation and prepare my personal shopper about what I was looking for and that Josefina was happy to share all her Lululemon expertise.
If you need some extra assistance shopping for yourself or someone special (Valentine's Day is right around the corner!), book at appointment with the Lululemon personal shoppers. You can book now at the Aventura location by clicking here and look for this service coming soon to other locations around South Florida!

On Tuesday, February 1, RedBike is expanding its footprint to South Beach. In addition to its locations in Brickell and Midtown, RedBike will now be hosting outdoor classes on the rooftop of the Faena Bazaar.
The new al fresco space will accommodate up to 40 bikes per class, and the schedule will include both morning and evening classes. To celebrate the opening, RedBike is offering complimentary classes all week long, from Tuesday, February 1 through Tuesday, February 7. To sign up, riders can create an account online and book their bikes based on availability.
Miami native and RedBike founder, Albert Ghitis, adapted his business model during the pandemic to include outdoor classes to cater to his clients’ needs and comfort levels.
"Since opening our first outdoor studio in Brickell, we realized there is a huge demand for more outdoor classes," said Ghitis. “When given the chance to partner with Faena Bazaar, we jumped at the opportunity because both of our brands attract a similar, young, hip demographic that prioritizes health and wellness. Our new South Beach home will also have ocean views and a nice breeze, giving riders a safe and scenic alternative."
Ghitis founded RedBike with the belief that fitness could be fun, and he’s ready to bring the same high-energy workout from his indoor studios to the Faenza Bazaar rooftop. The rhythm-based rides are 45 minutes long and incorporate a few minutes of strengthening arm exercises. Ghitis is also bringing RedBike’s lead instructors to teach at South Beach.
RedBike South Beach is located at 3400 Collins Ave in Miami Beach and guests can access the rooftop through the lobby elevator or stairs of Faena Bazaar. For more information and to book your free class, visit redbikestudios.com.

Pop Up Grocer is coming to Miami for a month beginning Friday, January 28 and will be located in Wynwood at 171 NW 23rd Street. The traveling grocer store is bringing a selection of the newest and most innovative, better-for-you products, including those from Miami-owned, women-owned and BIPOC-owned brands. Discover items like milk made from bananas, chips made from cactus, plant-based deodorant, matcha pancakes, probiotic mouthwash, fizzy functional beverages and more.
Founded by Emily Schildt, Pop Up Grocer's robust selection features 100% interesting, 100% natural, majority plant-based, and sugar-conscious choices. Dedicated to connecting with consumers in a new and unique way, Pop Up Grocer brings all the buzziest brands on Instagram under one roof, and to your favorite cities. The Miami pop-up was designed by Chaz Capobianco, owner of Miami-based design studio Capoco, and Elizabeth Jaime, a Miami-based prop stylist and florist.
Pop Up Grocer creates an environment that still feels like a grocery store – product, shelves and fridges – but intends to stimulate your senses and take you out of your normal, routine shopping mentality. Unlike a traditional grocery store, Pop Up Grocer is built for discovery. Just over 400 products—as opposed to 40,000—line its shelves, across categories: food, beverage, home, pet, and body care. And to the Miami location, Pop Up Grocer will bring 3 newly-launched categories: Mood Boosters, Saucy + Spicy, Human + Pet Care. The goal is to increase visibility for emerging brands and their founders.
Miami-based Fernanda Quintero aka nacoooks, will debut as the store’s bakery partner, offering a daily selection of cookies and exclusive menu of baked goods that blend food, culture and design. Liger’s Cookies, famed as the best cookies in Miami, will also sell fresh cookies on the weekends only. The Miami store will also showcase Florida-based brands, like The SisterYard, Big Easy, Vacation, and brands that are otherwise exclusively available online, such as Superfrau, Kiki Milk, Bonito; and just-launched brands ZORA, Supr, De Soi.
“We’re thrilled to kick off the new year in Miami, a city with such unique energy, and one that has experienced immense growth in recent years. And with all that is happening in the dining scene, we are looking forward to meeting the appetites of those searching for something equally exciting in grocery," said Emily Schildt, Pop Up Grocer Founder & CEO.
Pop Up Grocer will be open from 10am to 7pm daily from Friday, Jan 28 through Sunday, Feb 27. 5% of in-store sales will be given to one emerging, consumer packaged goods brand, for whom the donation has immediate and significant impact. For more information, visit popupgrocer.co or find them on Instagram at @popup.grocer.

To make this happen, the new Miami facility offers state-of-the-art infrared heating, bi-polar HVAC ionization and a disco ball because that is the YO BK difference – a party within a workout!
“I believe our classes, which are equal parts fun, challenging and accessible, will be met with excitement here," says Founder Katie Durand. "In particular I can’t wait to introduce Inferno Hot Pilates, which is a party within a workout with energetic music, club lighting and a disco ball."
One of YO BK’s most popular classes, Inferno Hot Pilates, focuses on a set of high-intensity exercises to strengthen and tone your body while elevating your heart rate in a heated room. Classes offered at the Wynwood location range from Inferno Hot Pilates (HIIT), Bikram Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga and Yin, ensuring a workout style for any type of student.
“YO BK is about so much more than physical exercise – it’s a home away from home for our students to challenge and get to know themselves better,” says Durand.
Durand made the decision to expand YO BK to Wynwood because the neighborhood matched the energy and progressiveness that they had in Brooklyn. The layout and design are also reminiscent of the Brooklyn locations by keeping both comfort and elegance in mind, staying true to the original YO BK style. The new studio displays the original industrial ceilings of their factory space at Oasis and features graffiti throughout for a modern touch that’s welcoming and warm.
Showers will be available to YO BK. Additionally, guests will also have access to its partnered all day cafe, Novela Social, from the owners of Gotan NYC.

Vitruvia is taking wellness and recovery to the next level in Miami Beach with their science-backed and physician-approved methods. Their goal? Transform lives by restoring your quality of life.
Vitruvia has helped hundreds of the world’s top performers, athletes, musicians, CEOs and leading medical experts take back control of their bodies and live life to the fullest through its natural approach to restore and repair tissue. High profile clients include home-run king Miguel Cabrera and Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz, among others, as you’ll learn below!
We got a chance to speak with Julia Sutton, Chief Growth Officer at Vitruvia. Prior to Vitruvia, Sutton established herself as a powerhouse in the industry as the co-founder of Exhale Spa. Now she is telling us all about Vitruvia, her experiences there, and more!
"Growing up with four older brothers, sports and fitness was the very foundation of my life. From high school basketball to college softball, I learned discipline and competitiveness at a young age. Playing sports really helped shape my career. I began my career in the space as a certified personal trainer and witnessed the effects of training without proper instruction or recovery.
When I got the opportunity to join the Vitruvia team, I took on the role because I appreciated Vitruvia’s holistic approach that combines cutting edge medicine with state-of-the-art recovery methods to restore the body and dramatically improve an individual’s active lifestyle."
"The Vitruvian Man is a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci made around 1490. The drawing is based on the ideal proportions of a human body, and how it relates to geometry. We settled on this name because we found that it perfectly encapsulates what we are doing at Vitruvia, helping people get back into their optimal selves. With tension, pain, and lack of mobility a part of everyday life, we at Vitruvia strive to bring the human body back into perfect alignment to relieve these common burdens."
"An ideal candidate for Vitruvia is anyone suffering from an injury, recovering from surgery, having issues related to poor posture, or simply experiencing aging and struggling physically.
The Vitruvia offering is a three-step process: Evaluate, Renew, and Restore! Our expert clinicians perform a comprehensive assessment of your movement patterns and ask you to perform the motions that cause you the most discomfort while we observe with our ultrasound to evaluate the health and pliability of your tissue. We utilize proprietary imaging software ScarMap® and treatment RELIEF® when restoring your damaged and scarred tissues to their normal (pre-injury) state.
We work with high-performance athletes, but that doesn't mean that the average person should feel discouraged. We are all owners of a fine-tuned machine, and we are there for when your machine needs a bit of maintenance to function optimally."
"RELIEF begins with ScarMap. ScarMap is our proprietary imaging software that our physicians use to see a patient’s tissue in real time. This is really unique in that it guides our physician’s evaluation when creating a treatment plan for a specific patient’s injury. This changes the playing field because the physician will know exactly what is going with the tissue and can then perform RELIEF. This treatment rehydrates, repairs and rehydrates damaged or scarred tissue with natural proteins. Making long term tissue regeneration and future scar prevention a reality for our patients, they can now go back to living their best pre-injury lives."
"We feel really blessed to have a variety of success stories at Vitruvia. We were lucky enough to treat the home run king, David Ortiz. We treated him after he retired from professional baseball. Due to severe scar tissue buildup in his ankles, he was experiencing an immense amount of inflammation and pain. He felt immense frustration after meeting with several doctors and finding that the answer to this pain always seemed to be medication. David after trying the different options available, nothing gave him long lasting results.
After he met our team, who he affectionately calls, “his boys” and received his first session of RELIEF, he felt the degree of pain subside and couldn’t believe it. He was also incredibly surprised by how quickly he was able to get back to his normal life. David is now back to his normal life working out, walking and proudly salsa dancing."
"Tune in everyday and truly listen to your body and make educated decisions on how you will move every day. Meditation, stretching and yoga can be extremely beneficial in helping improve your self-awareness and your mobility and performance. Beyond moving your body in a way that works best for you, we tell all of our clients to make taking care of themselves (mentally, spiritually and sexually) their first priority. If individuals can operate from a place of fullness, everything else in life will fall into place and our bodies will thank us for it."
"It’s an exciting time to be living in the world today. We have so many options to keep our body and minds healthy. Vitruvia is a fantastic example of how medicine is evolving and changing for the better. Don’t be a spectator in your life. Participate in your wellbeing and when possible, assist others on their journey."

We got a chance to chat with Ella Titus, a professional ballerina with Miami City Ballet, about her fitness routine. A Florida native, she moved to Miami to attend MCB School full-time as a scholarship student at age 14, and was offered an apprenticeship at age 16. In 2015, Titus graduated from Miami Beach High School and joined Miami City Ballet’s corps de ballet.
We asked her about her favorite workouts and her favorite post-show treat. See all her answers below!
"We have two types of work days - rehearsal days and performance days. Rehearsal days start with ballet class in the morning for an hour and a half followed by 6 hours of rehearsal. Performance days we have ballet class onstage, a matinee performance, a 3 hour break, then a night performance. Throughout the day I usually have physical therapy at some point or will spend some time running on the elliptical. When I get home after dancing all day it's very rare that I go out because I'm so exhausted from the day."
"To prepare for the ballet season I have a few different types of cross training I enjoy. During quarantine I learned that cross training was very helpful for me as a dancer, so I have continued it since then. I love to do Pilates, Barry's workout, and Gyrotonic. I love any good cardio workout because I feel like it gets my stamina prepared for the performance season."
"I've been dancing since I was 3, but I'm currently in my 7th year dancing for Miami City Ballet professionally."
"My go-to pre-show meal is steak and pasta! I need a good carb load before I perform so I have lots of energy. I also tend to be low in iron, so a good steak will make me feel ready to go for a show. I also like to have dark chocolate during intermission for a little sugar burst."
"My favorite post-show treat is ice cream. I'm addicted to ice cream, and there's nothing more satisfying for me than to come home from the theater and eat a giant bowl of ice cream."
"My favorite type of workout besides ballet is going to Barry's bootcamp. I love running on the treadmill and how tired you get during the class. Sometimes I visualize dancing hard ballets while I'm on the treadmill running and think, "If I'm this tired now, then dancing flowers in Nutcracker will be easy!" There is also such a great community at Barry's and I have many friends who come to take classes too which is encouraging when you're absolutely dying in class!"

Using interval training, the entire workout is crafted around work-to-rest ratios, making the class accessible to all ability levels. This purposeful approach claims to provide unmatched results.
There are three different class types, which create the word MAD with their first letters.
Regardless of the class style, exercises are set up in different lanes that have weights and goals pre-determined to match different ability levels. After the coach demos exercises, there is the chance to test out the weights to determine your lane for the class. Coaches circle the floor during the workout to ensure great form. The sense of teamwork and music create a great energy in the room.

While our late-night scene is unrivaled, Miami got an award for being the city most likely to book a workout class in the evening. ClassPass released their annual fitness trends report today and our nightlife-loving city earned itself the Night Owl award.
Using their robust database of fitness and wellness search behavior, ClassPass compiled insights over the past year to determine trends in 2021 as businesses reopened and people returned to IRL experiences.
Last year Miami was awarded the "Wildcard" title for being most likely to book a class minutes before it starts. While we're sure this is still true, late night workouts reigned supreme. The biggest Night Owl in Miami attended 187 classes after 6 pm!
One thing we should be proud of? Not winning "most likely to cancel a workout at the last minute," which went to New York City this year. New Yorkers cancel 1 in 10 classes at the last minute and are the only city to cancel classes at such a high frequency.
Wondering how some other cities ranked? Here is the full list of awards.

Miami-based lifestyle brand UNKNWN launched its latest collection today in collaboration with the Miami Dolphins. This marks UNKNWN’s first partnership with a national professional football team.
UNKNWN’s collaborative collection was inspired by the created tagline “There Is No Off Season” which recognizes the Miami Dolphins and the work ethic of their players and organization all year round with a matching apparel collection designed for all year in Miami.
“It was an incredible honor to reimagine fan gear for this storied franchise. We went deep exploring the heritage of the Miami Dolphins to envision a new and elevated way for Dolphins fans and the South Florida community to support the team not only on game days but any time, anywhere," said Jaron Kanfer, UNKNWN Co-Founder.
The limited edition collection is inspired by athlete “off the field” style and consists of co- branded graphic t-shirts, jackets, pants and shorts styled in the Dolphins’ iconic aqua, orange and pure white team colors. Sweatsuits feature UNKNWN pull tabs and metal zippers, embroidered logos, metal tipped drawstrings, paneled construction, and pleated pant details. T-shirts are 100% cotton, button down shirts are 100% viscose, sweatsuit components and shorts are 100% polyester. Shorts also feature mesh lining.
Mirroring the concept of a helmet-to-toe professional uniform, the coordinating collection can be styled together as full looks or worn with other lifestyle pieces from the line. Believing that uniforms play an essential role in the strength of each player and their unity as a team, UNKNWN created its Miami Dolphins collection to allow fans to experience the same mentality and approach to wearing this collaboration.
The UNKNWN design team sought to offer a refined, higher-level approach to fan apparel through original cut and sewn silhouettes and retro style graphic t-shirts. The quality of the design and detailed construction pays tribute to the high level of dedication athletes bring to the field.
UNKNWN’s Miami Dolphins Collection ranges from $50 - $145 and is available at UNKNWN.com and in stores at UNKNWN in Wynwood and The Miami Dolphins team store at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami-based lifestyle brand UNKNWN launched its latest collection today in collaboration with the Miami Dolphins. This marks UNKNWN’s first partnership with a national professional football team.

Miami Yoga Garage opened a new location in Wynwood and are celebrating their grand opening this Saturday, December 4 with a full schedule of free events. Learn more about the studio below.
Miami Yoga Garage is an Ashtanga Yoga studio, and one of the oldest in Miami, with their previous South Beach location having been open 15 years. Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldman, founders of Miami Yoga Garage, have been serving the Miami yoga community for many years and their practice is rigorous, leaving students feeling stronger and less stressed. Miami Yoga Garage offers guided classes like most other studios, but specializes in ‘Mysore Style’ which is an unguided format where the teacher gives each student a personalized practice.
"Miami Yoga Garage is unique because it’s not just a work out, it’s a work in," said Senior Teacher Joseph Armstrong. "You will be physically challenged for sure, but you’ll also gain powerful insights about yourself along the way."
"Yoga often starts with getting the body healthy and strong and from there many other benefit can develop. Regular practice is a cure for everything from illness, the aches and pains of aging to loneliness," said Armstrong. "Keeping up your practice is easier when supported by community, also known as sangha. The support students receive from their teachers and classmates is a powerful, even transformative, thing."
Members love that the method allows for personalized attention. Every student gets one-on-one with the teaching during the Mysore style classes, helping them reach their goals faster.
The new location has been meticulously and lovingly designed. There are several practice spaces as well as a filming studio for online classes led by MacGregor. There are also showers and changing rooms to make it easier for students to take the time to practice during their busy days. Lastly, they are home to an incredible Latin American concept store called The One Who Travels Store.
There are a wide range of membership options. Drop-ins, class packs and unlimited memberships are all available. Their current promotion is the best in Miami - 30 days for $30. They encourage you to come try the new space and take unlimited classes for the best price around for the first month.
