Soothe your soul with Jenna Guadagni at her new spirtiual spot in Coconut Grove - Buddha Grove.

Jenna Guadagni wanted to step-up her spiritual game. So she did what anyone else would do. She spent the last year in Shaman School (yes, that’s a thing), traveling back and forth to Nashville, Tennessee learning energy and crystal healing techniques.

Now, she is taking her life’s work - all of that spiritual knowledge and her advanced yoga teacher certification, to completely refresh and rebrand her spiritual spot in Coconut Grove known as the Buddha Shack. The newly energized space, which moved to a new location directly across the street, is simply called, Buddha Grove.

Buddha Grove

“Coconut Grove is my home. It’s where I live, work and raise my daughter,” says Guadagni. “I feel so connected to thecommunity and the people. I love being able to offer a safe space for residentsof all ages to practice movement and mindfulness within walking and/or bikingdistance.”

“All of ourequipment is top of the line,” says Lynet. “Our Climb Towers are actuallybrought in from Australia. Each guest will have their own Lift Station whereweights and resistance bands are easily accessible for them, and they have alarge personal space to do their movements, no crowding here.”

The Antidote workout is a 50-minute class that changes every day. What stays the same is the use of Metabolic Rounds, meaning that you will push yourself to the limit for short bursts and rest in between.

There are fourrounds that are 8-12 minutes each, taking you through a range of athleticmotions. By running on Woodway treads, climbing on PowerTowers, and lifting at apersonal weight station, guests can expect a full body workout that is going toshred fat and tone muscle.

We knew that if there was a community that wouldappreciate a modern and high-quality fitness studio, it would be thisone which has been disregarded in the past because of its location so far fromMiami’s explosive development scene. It’s time someone brought somethinginnovative to the suburbs.”

Hard Work Pays Off at Core Fitness Training in Hollywood

Core Fitness Training (CFT) is the latest gym to open up in Hollywood. Opposite the Diplomat beach resort, CFT is a boutique gym with stellar personal trainers and a variety of hard-core classes to choose from every day.

Core FitnessTraining (CFT) is the latest gym to open up in Hollywood. Opposite the Diplomatbeach resort, CFT is a boutique gym with stellar personal trainers and avariety of hard-core classes to choose from every day.

Owner DeanStatler has worked hard to create a gym where the group training is personal.Statler has purposely limited the class size, allowing for participants toreceive more individualized attention during every session.

“I wanted to create a gym that incorporates a variety of HIIT but not with 50 people in a class," says Statler. "I wanted something more personal where people get the attention they need without having to pay for a personal trainer."

The mantra at CFT is: “Hard work, works.” This slogan isn’t just for the members; every trainer is as committed as you to maximizing every minute of your workout to help you fulfil your fitness potential.

Core FitnessTraining is packed with modern training equipment like sleds, battle ropes, TRXstraps, rowing machines, bikes, aqua bags and so much more. This allows gueststo work through diverse and dynamic workouts programmed by the training staff.

Classes at CoreFitness Training are different every time but follow a weekly schedule thatblends strength, weight and endurance training.

  • Monday: Boot camp style circuits designed to build lean muscle tissue and burn fat.
  • Tuesday: Tabata training is one of the most popular forms of high intensity interval training that combines 20 seconds of work, with 10 seconds of rest over a period of time, keeping your metabolism engaged for hours after your workout is complete.
  • Wednesday: ‘Wild Wednesday’ is all about volume, as guests work through a high number of reps and sets this class is definitely mentally challenging.
  • Thursday: Butts and Guts - this class focuses on building firm glutes, legs and blasting your core.
  • Friday: Sum it up – this takes a little bit of everything you’ve done in the week for a full functionally loaded movement class.
  • Saturday: ‘Super Set Saturday’ focuses on building lean muscle by keeping your muscles under tension with SUPER SETS to get stronger.
  • Sunday – ‘Ripped’ is a functional ab class that will focus on working your core whilst keeping your heart rate up!

Thrown into themix of the weekly schedule is Sunrise Beach Yoga, Boxing, Cycle Shock, Zumbaand my personal favorite “Body Shock.” This class is highly recommended; it’san intense full body, high energy workout with loud hype music and an evenlouder and more hype instructor; Annick.

Core FitnessTraining also offers “open gym,” a window where can do the workout of the dayat their own pace, there will always be a trainer on hand to push you throughif needed.

CFT host aspecial monthly activity. Last month, taking full advantage of their location, they hosted “Burn & Brunch,” a fully equipped workout on the beach, followed by use of the spa facilities and an unlimited brunch at the Diplomat, all for just $50.

Parking is free and if you sign up to Core Fitness Training in February as a STAY FIT 305 reader you can have access to the gym and unlimited classes for $99 a month. Your first class is complimentary, so give it a try. Stay tuned on their Instagram @Core2Fit for updates.

It's no secret that Miamians crave health and wellness. It's literally what our entire site is about. The latest studio, workout, trainer, health food, etc.

But how does Miami stack up against other healthy cities around the globe? TravelSuperMarket.com took a look at major cities around the world, rating them on eight different criteria - spas, gyms, yoga & Pilates studios, health food shops, vegan option restaurants, parks/green spaces, average sunlight hours, and the cost of a one-night stay.

So how did we so? Well, the Magic City came in the respectable #6 slot out of 50, so pretty damn good. Paris took the top spot, with Chiang Mai, Barcelona, Pattaya, and Vancouver completing the rest of the top five.

Here is what the rankings had to say about the 305:

Turquoise waters, glamorous neighbourhoods and colourful art deco buildings, Miami combines the luxury of white sands and the excitement of trendsetting nightclubs, making it one of the most sought after destinations to travel to. There are over 500 vegan option restaurants and over 300 health food shops, so it’s not surprising Miami scores highly when it comes to the world’s healthiest cities.

Society Barbell & Fitness has been a popular mainstay in Brickell since its opening in March 2016. Now, owners Adam Becker and Mike Vouvounas have announced a rebranding to match their updated fitness offering, with Society Fitness.

Society Barbell & Fitness has been a popular mainstay in Brickell since its opening in March 2016. The 3,600 square foot functional fitness facility mainly catered to the CrossFit community by offering a “SocietyPerformance” class, featuring the barbell and CrossFit movements. Now, owners Adam Becker and Mike Vouvounas have announced a rebranding to match their updated fitness offering.

"The new SocietyPerformance allows for a ton of creativity from a programming perspective,” says Becker. “The class incorporates several different training methodologies, including bootcamp, HIIT, functional bodybuilding, plyometrics and more. We are not limited to the 20 or so movements that most CrossFit gyms are limited to.”

In addition to the revamped SocietyPerformance class, Glute Camp has been added to the schedule. Formerly known as Booty Day, the 60-minute booty building, firming and toning class remains as one of the more popular days of the week.

“The newprogram allows for a lot of people in a class and it creates a really coolenergy in the gym,” says Becker.

Society Fitness will also undergo some cosmetic changes. New wall art, a gaming and relaxation lounge, bathroom updates, and a tap featuring local breweries will be added.

“Brickell is home to the gym and it is where Mike and I live,” say Becker. “We like to think of Society Fitness as a “third place” for many. You have work, home and you need somewhere else to decompress and shed some of the stresses of life. Society Fitness is that “third place.”

PumpFit Club in Fort Lauderdale Serves Up a Can't Miss Sweat

While small-group training gyms have increased in popularity across South Florida, PumpFit Club offers its own unique personality and killer workouts.

Whilesmall-group training gyms have increased in popularity across South Florida,PumpFit Club offers its own unique personality and killer workouts.

PumpFitClub was founded by Hannah Eden in 2014. It initially began as a bootcamp classin the back of another gym before evolving into a HIIT training studio in 2015.Eden wanted to create a space to serve members, regardless of age, shape andsize, and help them set and achieve any fitness goals.

“Ourvision is to empower our local community. Once you walk through our doors, youare stripped from every single social label,” said Paulo Barreto, co-owner andoperator at PumpFit. “We work every single day on breaking stereotypes andpushing every member to discover themselves and the athlete within.”

Thefull-body, high-intensity, group workouts merge and mix intense cardio withresistance training for fat loss, toning and conditioning. The PumpFit programgoes beyond the typical stations and circuits. No class is the same, and eachday of the week offers a different structure of workout, challenging the bodyand mind with routines meant to improve overall fitness – from speed, power andagility to strength, balance and coordination.

“Weutilize many modalities of fitness to bring a diverse and ever-challengingexperience to each workout,” said Barreto. “At the core of our program is bodybuilding, kettle bell sport and flow, yoga, animal flow, and bodyweightplyometrics.”

Trainersare able to deliver individualized attention in a group setting, and are veryhands-on, ensuring correct form and providing positive energy andencouragement.

Atthe end of each class, after a much-needed cool-down and stretch, everyonegathers around a circle and brings their hands together. The trainer awards oneathlete who’s drive and work ethic stood out during the workout.

“Anyonecan receive the stamp regardless of fitness level, how fast they move or how muchweight lifted. It’s about recognizing effort and small victories, be it aperfect lunge or the first box jump completed,” said Barreto.

The stampgoes on your bicep and it says “F*cking Fantastic.” It’s a great goal for anyparticipant to have at PumpFit Club.
